Highlights of The Dales
The rolling hills and picturesque villages of The Yorkshire Dales are a sight to behold. Our full day tour will take you to some of the stunning highlights of England's largest county.
With collection from your home or hotel, a typical day would see us leave around 9am and head north through Harrogate and Ripon, we can call at Historic Ripley Castle as we pass, heading towards the picturesque dales village of Pately Bridge in the heart of Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A wander down the charming narrow streets will take us to the oldest sweet shop in England, and if you're feeling a little peckish, the selction of freshly made pies in the local butcher's shops will make your mouth water!
The highlight for many though is the amazing Wensleydale Creamery.
Home to not only the world famous Wensleydale Cheese, a host of other fabulous cheeses are made here and all are available to sample and buy in the visitor centre store, it really is cheese heaven!
And of course our film favourites Wallace and Gromit are in evidence at the home of their favourite snack.
As we start to head back we travel through more incredible countryside, passing the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks of Ingelborough, Pen-Y-Ghent and Whernside along the way.
After a brief photo stop (or longer for a walk if you prefer) at the incredible Ribblehead Viaduct, we call for afternoon tea at a home run dales cafe at the foot of Pen-Y-Ghent.
After a brief stop here we head across the open hills to Grassington, another typical dales town with a picturesque market square and a whole host of cafe's if refreshments are needed!
Frm Grassington we go North again towards Leyburn and the stunning Aysgarth Falls. A brief and beautiful woodland walk gives the best views or the falls on the River Ure.
Our next stop is one of the most iconic and pituresque Dales Towns, Hawes. Nestled among towering hills, old stone buildings, cobbled streets and town centre waterfalls make for a fabulous stroll, along with endless small shops selling local goods and crafts.
From here we pass through Settle en route to our final stop, the dales largest market town, Skipton.
With it's almost perfectly preserved 900 year old castle, and historic cobbled High Street, Skipton is endlessly rich both in history and outstanding natural beauty, and visitors travel far and wide to experience it's beauty.
